My Second Day at Meredith.

My second day on the job began with another meeting, this time with the weather team for the magazine and website. This was an aspect of interactive media that I never thought about, but it was interesting to see how they do their job and how the world of meteorology works. We all rely on the work of these scientists, and it was great to see the way things work.

After the meeting, I had a chance to meet with a public relations specialist from the corporate communications department. We talked about internship opportunities within the corporate communications department. It was great to hear what she looked for in an applicant and what aspects of my education were most important. We talked about the most important aspect, writing. I knew that writing was going to be part of my job like it is in most jobs, but I never realized how important it was going to be in my future field.

The final part of my adventure at Meredith was a stop in the sound booth. I was able to learn about radio and how they have used sound to distribute their information in a different means. I was even able to record my own radio broadcast and learned how to use my voice to communicate!
